I still have it but the kids watch it far more than I do. I mostly watch their original contents
I did start black mirror but the first episode was just so damn bizarre I have not watch anymoreComment

Actually the first episode is not a good one to start with and is not really representative of the show. Give another episode a shot, the rest are better (and much less bizarre and offensive, if that was the problem for you) than the first one.Comment

Watched The Polka King last week and enjoyed it a lot. I actually lived in Hazelton during that time, and Jan Lewan was all over the place, every church festival, every event he was playing. He was super popular around the area, there was a huge Polish population in that area of Pennsylvania. Never went in the store, but it was there in a little strip mall. I remember the whole scandal with his wife and all.Comment

I've had Netflix for as long as I can remember the streaming service being available, and I still watch it regularly. It's one of the only things that I pay for entertainment-wise that I feel gives me more than my money's worth. It's also my only source for 4k content at the moment. I do think that they are going a bit overboard with the original stand-up specials lately. I'm a fan of stand-up comedy, but it seems like they release one a week these days, and about 90% of the ones I've watched are pretty bad."Trying is the first step towards failure." - H. J. Watched the Polka King tonight.
I liked it a real lot.
Brought back fond memories --- Back in the day me and my ma went to a lot of his festivals... along with many other Polka greats --- even met Frankie Yankovic
Jack Black did a good job .... His accent was funny though, reminded me of John Candy and Gene Levey as the Happy WanderersComment

I didn't find it offensive, just really bizarre. also, not at all what I was expecting on a show I had heard compared to scifi anthology shows like Twilight ZoneComment

The theme of the show is about how modern tech affects us - so most of the eps are sci-fi, but it's not 100% sci-fi. I think maybe only 2 episodes aren't sci-fi, actually. (I think "s3 e3 "Shut up and Dance" is also not a sci-fi.)
I think these are the best ones to start with:
season 1 episode 2 "Fifteen Million Merits"
season 3 episode 1 "Nosedive"
season 4 episode 1 "USS Callister" (especially if you're a Trek fan)Comment

Critics were pretty brutal reviewing Cloverfield Paradox. I personally liked it...a bit like Event Horizon but with different twists. The movie had a $40 million budget, a lot for a Netflix movie, pretty impressive special-effects. Not perfect, but I recommend it to all sci-fi fans here...sigpicComment
