    What's up with Netflix ?

Didn't have Netflix for a few years - I think.

They gave me a free month so I signed up to get caught up on some recent movies I've been wanting to see.

They don't have anything good ...
Not even Skull Island (which I've been wanting to see)

For TV shows it looks like they bigtime got rid of 99% of all their oldies.

Was hoping to see Westworld TV series and they don't even have that.

Also, it seems they try and make their movie lists look bigger by putting the same show/movie in multiple categories. ---

Is Netflix going out of business ? .... I can't imaging anyone paying for it.

It's like barely better than free movie sites on my old Roku

Their comedy category is the same as their kids category .... all CGI kids movies

      What da hec ?

They have Goodfellas but not Casino .......

      again, What da hec ?

No Star Wars or Star Trek movies except that lousy Rogue One snooze-fest

again, again, What da hec ?

For sci-fi horror ---- I've seen a better selection on Chiller Channel

Movies are licensed to different streaming services and Netflix doesn't just get to have whatever it wants. Movies hop from Amazon to Hulu to Netflix to premium channels like HBO and Showtime pretty regularly. There are also tons of smaller streaming sites like Shudder and Scream Box that get in on the action, too.

For example, Jaws and ET have floated between Netflix, Amazon and OnDemand about a dozen times over the last year.

Shows like Westwood are available through OnDemand or HBO Go, and don't go to Netflix.

Netflix is moving in a direction of mostly, if not all, original programming.

I've had Netflix for years and I still like it a lot.

Mind you, I think the Canadian version gets more British content than Netflix USA. They don't seem to focus on classics much, but I believe that's possibly because a lot of classic TV still has a market in syndication on cable networks.

For their original content I loved "A Futile and Stupid Gesture" and the show "Mindhunter". "The Toys that Made Us" is still on my list.

Do you guys have "Black Mirror"? That show is fantastic. It's like the Twilight Zone, you can watch in any order. Start with Season 4 Episode 1 (Mikey - you'll love it!).

My list is always filled with stuff I want to get to - but I really enjoy indie movies and docs, so maybe that's why.

I've had it for years and still love it. I don't have cable and since the only game in town wants $20 a month just for basic locals, I'll gladly pay the now $11 a month for netflix. if you want the latest movies you'll need something else. and it seems netflix is moving toward streaming original (or at least exclusive) content like:
stranger things, orange is, the killing, mindhunter, ozark, end of the f'ing world, house of cards, the marvel shows (except IF), black mirror (just mind that first 'ep... it's a doozy!), godless, the fall, hemlock grove... all good shows. plenty of comedies like unbreakable kimmie schmitt, comedians in cars, trailer park boys, glow, arrested development, lady dynamite... plus the rod serling twilight zone!

and no, they're definitely not going out of business. not with membership increasing and an estimated 7-8 BILLION dollar budget this year for content.

I have no problem with Netflix, because they sort of compliment my healthy addiction to blu rays. I just wish I had more time to watch the programming. I'm like Burgess Meredith in that Twilight Zone who needs more time to read all the books.

And they still get plenty of new and old movies. Hell, I just watched Sunset Boulevard the other day.

I pay for Netflix, Shudder, Prime and Hulu, and on top of that we have cable. I sit and watch movies all day long while I'm working. Even then I still don't have access to every movie I want to watch (without having to pay a rental fee). The only one I consider dropping is Hulu cuz I don't need it for TV shows, and nearly every movie they offer is also on Prime. But every once in awhile they have something I can't get anywhere else so I keep it.

Don't love it, but it shines like a new penny in a sea of sh_t

Watched the fist 4 episodes so far

Yeah, me too, I think Netflix is totally worth the money. My daughter would kill me if I cancelled it, tons of kids stuff on there. And yeah, the Canadian version has a lot of Brit stuff which is cool, and in Canada they also get Disney stuff after Blu-ray but before pay cable so all the Star Wars and Marvel movies show up on there pretty quickly.

Oh, Black Mirror is fantastic, I love that show! I think Netflix is the producer of the newer seasons (or as the Brits call them, "series") so I'm guessing they should be available in all regions including the US Netflix.
