From that bit, it looks like a prequel to Dark Knight and Ledger's Joker, with the makeup not quite there as if the Joker hasn't nailed it down for himself yet. Phoenix could definitely do that sketchy-crazy vibe Ledger had. I think the issue everyone's having is with the circus clown look as opposed to the more traditional Joker look . . . maybe something for the end of the movie?

I have to ask this do people REALLY like this or are they forcing themselves to like it BECAUSE it's the joker and they want it it succeed not matter how bad it is just like Venom...If we accept these by going to these films and spending money the studios will keep making this subpar product but I can't tell someone how to spend their money...

Surprisingly, I am too. Nothing can take away my favorite Jokers, so let’s give this a shot for something possibly different.

The idea of different incarnations in one film is so potent, I think it would be swell to see Joker as an anthology film. Different filmmakers and perhaps different actors for each segment. Now that would be an experiment I’d pay to see.
