Female heads in proper scale Kickstarter

We've all been grousing about the lack of properly scaled female Mego heads. The ones that FTC has are as hard as rocks, and way out of proportion to the body.

What I would like to know is, is a Kickstarter campaign JUST for the heads a good idea?

Even without hair and paint apps?

If anyone likes the idea, please post.

Depends on if there is a larger audience for realism or dolly-ism. Guessing the lack of options for the Yvonne doll speaks to the market for realism.

Well, what would be your preference, realistic or dollyistic?

I'm not sure what you're suggesting...
do you mean a fundraiser to pay a private party to design and produce 1/9 scale female heads
or a means of petitioning ftc to fix their bobbleheads?

Personally realistic, I just don't think the market is there for your idea, see Zica. And you can forget about FTC changing their ways.

If the market really isn't tbere, even here at the museum, I guess I'll forget about it.

And I really thought I had a good idea.

it might work on a small scale, as in maybe someone or a few people right here might be able to combine talents (shrinking, rooting, sculpting etc) and produce several agreed-upon heads... I don't know how these things work but maybe a certain dollar amount donation gets your first one free???

So many facemold possibilities and different preferences. Zica is technically proper scale but never heard of a person that likes the mold.

My preference would be realistic or even cartoonish but not doll-like. I really don't like those.
                        ***another thought***
We could get members who are willing to "donate female heads" the hair can be removed, seal the holes where the hair was then, cast the heads for copies. We can cast in standard resin and drill to set hair.
We did something similar to this a long while back where we donated 9" star trek "Playmates" heads to be shrunk to mego size. I don't recall who did the shrinking but, I sent my donations to DaveMc.
There are a ton of nice heads that could be used. Some are over sized could be shrunk to the correct size.

I always found the "sue storm" head pleasing...a good compromise between realism and cartoonish! Also the daisy duke head comes to mind as "not bad"

It's not exactly great, either. It's got a Stepford Wife smile that is just creepy, and the head is ridiculously oversized.

The only way I can see this working would be to create the entire doll. New bodies with the heads scaled the size you want complete with outfits, etc. Something like CyGirls perhaps. It would have a story and strong characters. This way, it attracts people who maybe don't even really collect Mego figures specifically.
I can't see anyone outside of the existing community buying just heads. That would be a very small amount of sales.
Expectation is the death of discovery.
