    COMET Sci-Fi Channel

Anyone else getting this? I noticed it over the weekend. It replaced The Decades Channel. A lot of cool vintage sci-fi shows and movies on it.

I used to get it, then they figured it out and blocked Canada.

I wish I got Comet on Optimum/Cablevision. Decades still exists, however. I still have it. It must have just been removed from your cable lineup. Comet is one of several channels I wish I got. I get many of the over the air channels on cable, but there are several glaring omissions.

I get it on my antenna box. I have found a few things on it. Reminds me a bit of old Sci-Fi Channel, but not quite.

I like the vibe they are going for. It's kinda kitschy.

Sci-Fi channel at the beginning is a good comparison.

Funny how these channels play out. An upstart gets a good idea for a channel, it gets popular, bought out by larger company, they change the formula of what made it work. The old channel all but disappears and someone comes along later and fills the void again. Thinking Sci-Fi channel to their attempts to rebrand; Family channel to ABC Family to Freeform; TNN Network to Spike to Paramount channel coming soon. RFD channel is pretty much what TNN used to be. I don't even know what MTV is these days... Nothing there for me.

Interesting channe. A Sinclair/ MGM production. It should get wider distribution once the Tribune purchase is finalized.

What sucks about most of these channels is they're no longer willing to license widely. They're all based around one library.

To people that don't get Comet you aren't missing much.

Their movies are heavily edited for commercials.

Was watching Thunderbirds Are Go a few weeks ago and was crazy mad they cut out the entire Cliff Richard song and sequence.

I use to have it on my Roku but dumped it. Didn't like the fact you couldn't catch shows from the start. Had to guess what time they start.

We get it locally, along w/ Me-TV and Charge!, which is nice. If no one's in the break room at work watching The View or The Price is Right, I usually switch it to Comet. What sucks is getting into Flash Gordon and having to go back to work during the spiked platform duel w/ Prince Barin.
