I wonder if there's an alternate universe where Lucas did 7,8,9 himself at the time he did the prequels in our universe, with the Big Three actors surviving all of them and then Disney did the Prequels to align them more with fan expectations.

I bet fans would, generally, be happier with that scenario.

Me, I like 'em just the way they are.

I just rented it through Redbox...just finished watching Last Jedi.

      My verdict?

      I’m eating crow, my friend!!!!!!!

      I THROUGHLY ENJOYED IT!

As a matter of fact...I liked it even more than Force Awakens.

      I don’t know, I just dug it a lot.

I’ll get into more detail later...but yes, you were right...

The way I see it, you can't have too much SW. It's great to be able to pick and choose. So far, I've seen two new SW movies I loved, and one I didn't. Not bad. Certainly better than the new Trek movies did for me.
As long as they keep doing well financially, there will be more stuff to pick and choose from.
I have always been an original Trek fan since around the age of five and I have never seen the new Trek movies and have no desire. I saw a scene from one of the movies where "Kirk" and "Spock" were doing the Spock death scene from TWOK and it had a flavor of being a SNL skit.

I'm taking baby steps to start rebuilding a collection of figures and such from the Star Wars prequels so I am hoping a lot of people out there in collector land feel the same way about the prequels as some of the forum members here do so maybe some of the prices of the stuff I want will remain low. I am still perplexed as to the high regard some fans have for Rogue One. Did I go see a different movie?

I’m still perplexed why in the bejesus people like the prequels...it’s beyond my realm of reality. We must be from alternate Earths, lol...

Star Wars prequels...the good, in no particular order...

              1. Darth Maul
              2. Emperor Palpatine
              3. Ewan McGregor

Star Wars prequels...the bad, in no particular order.

              1. Jar Jar Binks
              2. The kid playing Anakin
              3. Hayden Christensen
              4. The dead pan bad acting from the entire cast
              5. The overuse of CGI, looks like a video game
              6. The horrible accents used by the Trade Federation dudes and Jar Jar Binks (comically bad Chinese and Jamaican accents)
              7. Darth Vader...NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
              8. The creepy love affair between Padme and Anakin, especially since she first met him when he was just a little kid
              9. Everything looks more modern and technologically advanced than the original Star Wars
              10. And the one single thing that almost destroyed the entire Star Wars Universe...MIDICHLORIANS!!!

              There, I’m exhausted...

I've got to agree with pretty much all of this. My favorite scene in the prequels is Obi Wan going to the water planet to check out the clones and his battle with Jango Fett in the rain. And I like Darth Maul. He was killed off too early only to be replaced by more forgettable characters.

                ...and that's about it.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

                  i like them this way...

!.Star wars (1977 )the best by far

2.Empire strikes bake (smelly Taun taun and all)

3.Return of the Jedi ( teddy bears at war aside)

4.the Phantom menace ( only cause Darth Maul was so cool )

5.Revenge of the sith .cause Ankin ( Annie-yuuk)turns into vader

6.The force awkens (cause han,Leia and a brooding Luke are back)

7.Attack of the clones ( i like ray Harryhausen monsters )

8.the last jedi ( its like Jar Jar broke wind in a few scenes.

                  9. Rouge 1 a star wars story ( all the charactors get bumped off ,kinda depressing if your a rebel .

Definitely one of the biggest head-scratchers in movie history.

There are plenty of people who don't like Rogue One and aren't so crazy about TFA and TLJ. Too many reasons to list. Rogue One was like one of those "fan fiction" novels or a bad Star Wars comic book. For Rogue One, it was like "hey look at me, I'm a Star Wars too!". All the characters dying at the end of the film was one of its few strengths in my opinion. And TFA and TLJ? Take out Han Solo, Chewbacca, General Leia, and Luke Skywalker and what have you got? Cringe-worthy cinema unfortunately. Try to edit the films in your own mind taking out those characters and seriously, what's left? At least the prequels weren't full of scenes that lead to nothing at all later in the film. And a lot of the prequel haters probably still have figures, vehicles ,etc from the movies. Since they are so bad, I suppose you wouldn't mind sending it all to me for free? And from Rogue One I own nothing. From TFA I own a 3.75" Han Solo, and from TLJ I own the 3.75" Black Series Luke, the two 3.75" versions of Luke from the 5 poa line, 6" Black Series Target exclusive Luke and 6" General Leia and the 3.75" 5 poa Leia and 3.75" Chewbacca with Porg. And that's all.

Actually, to be frank, I own zero Star Wars figures.

I only collect Alien/Xenomorph stuff at the moment. I also have a Superman collection.

Glad you enjoyed TLJ, Hec! It’s not for everybody, and I completely understand all points of view, but it’s very rewarding for those who enjoy it.
