    I know The Cranberries weren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I really enjoyed the band and Dolores’ voice, in particular. 46 is way, way too young. Prayers for peace and condolences to her family, friends and fans...

      Whoa, that's a shocker! Too young.

      She actually used to live not far from me as she was married to a Canadian for 20 years.

              I was an assistant manager for the Music Department when their first album came out. Such a INCREDIBLE voice. So sad. RIP Dolores.

                  Not a fan of her style of singing (I prefer Harriet Wheeler any day), but this is sad news. Way too young. RIP.

                      I loved her voice, a powerful and unique one. I called it haunting in a way. She was not your ordinary run of the mill singer.

                      Such talented and beautiful person...how sad...so young...

                          She was suffering from bipolar disorder. She recently had major back surgery. Early reports that pain medicine might have played a role.

                                          Promises was the soundtrack to my divorce. I have been meaning to pick-up some of their later stuff, as well as give her solo material a listen.

                                                  More of a Wheeler man myself, too, but that makes this no less tragic.

                                                      Wheeler sounds like your typical average Lilith Fair singer.

                                                      O’Riordan had a more unique voice and was a much more powerful singer.
