Saw it last night. It's very, very good. Perfect piece for the times we live in, really. Terrific characters, wonderful cast, text book perfect direction. It's a small, intimate story, and that's a nice break from the usual big screen spectacle I normally go to see.

Just saw it. Sumptuous to look at, as expected. A very earnest, lovely story. There are a few surprises, but really just a few. It's mostly what you think it is - an arthouse Beauty and the Beast with the Gill Man. Mostly. The performances are absolutely amazing, and in some cases, heartbreaking.

    Del Toro is top shelf.

Glad that it got so many Oscar nods, including Best Picture. It will be interesting to see how many what is considered largely a genre piece will be able to land. I’d love to see it nab both Best Picture and Best Director, but I have a feeling 3 Billboads will likely rout it.
Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Man, finally got to watch this Saturday evening. What a great tour de force from GtD. That man has an imagination that is second to none and filmmaking skills without peer. This movie hits on every level it needs to hit on to make it an instant classic in my book and will easily join the ranks of 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, ALIEN and JURASSIC PARK as top films in my book. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it.

I’m glad you mentioned ALIEN...otherwise, I’d go bonkers, lol.

    Good man!

Finally watched this last night. It lived up to every bit of the hype. A wonderful film.
