Any Al Adamson fans?

Vinegar Syndrome just released it on blue-ray/dvd and I picked it up to give it a shot. It's a strange mix of nurse-sploitation/ blacksploitation/ possession movie. Not made and an interesting time capsule of the 70s. The commentary track by Sam Sherman is worth the price of the disk alone.

I love Nurse Sherri, it's probably my favourite Adamson movie, such a great blend of trash cinema genres.

You're dead right about Sam Sherman commentary too. Sam is a wealth of knowledge and he can make movies better that he didn't even work on.

I recommend any of the Hemisphere "Blood Island" movie DVDs, Sam does epic commentary on those as well.

I was not aware of this, but that poster image is certainly...interesting. Looks like something I would have wanted to rent in my teen years, in the "NR" section of our local video store.

Heh, when that BluRay came in, my daughter made a comment like "Does mum know you bought this?" and I had to explain to a 12 year old that it wasn't a porno.

That's fantastic Brian! Sherman clearly has a great appreciation for Adamson in his commentary.

The new release has 2 cuts of the picture. Adamson initially filmed a version with much more skin, but Sherman cut most of that for the actual release. One character has a topless scene and there's a couple of other quick flashes of breasts. So really pretty tame.

There is a second cut of the film which retains the skin Adamson originally shot. I think most would call this R softcore stuff. But still lots more of it. I think the release cut if much better.
