Live action Woody Woodpecker movie coming Feb 2018- Yikes!

Umm, yeah, this does not look good. Probably why it's not getting a theatrical release.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

    Why would they even bother?
Some cartoons just don't translate to reality...this is one of them.
Besides, I doubt many kids today even know who Woody is.

Always hated Woody Woodpecker with a passion.

WB hit the nail on the head having a nice guy (Bugs Bunny) having to turn nasty to protect his way of life.

Woody was always just a troll .

To this day I can't imagine why anybody would like him.

this is the greatest thing I've ever seen!

I assume the rotting corpse of Walter Lantz will soon rise to exact revenge on all involved.

Eh, it doesn't stink THAT bad. I mean, Woody Woodpecker was a cartoon nuisance before the likes of Bart Simpson. His sole purpose seemed to be to annoy different characters. This at least seems to be faithful in that regard, even if the animation is on the cheap looking side.

A surprising choice though, when you consider how incredibly un-PC and downright racist some of the originals are.

I don't have strong feelings about the character one way or the other and have zero issues with them trying to update a classic character for modern audiences. So, no nerd rage here. The movie just looks terrible and cheap. I also think having Woody actually defecate on people is a bit much.

Oh I'm totally going to watch it, mainly because it looks like a crappenfest.

As a kid I really liked the creepy original woody cartoons.

With the sound off, honestly, it looks like a breakfast cereal commercial.

It looks like this is getting shoveled off to die on video, which means they know it's too bad to even release... But like, shouldn't they have known that somewhere through the scripting process? I'm honestly surprised sometimes how much money is wasted on projects like this. They had to know this was bad before they ever shot a scene. And I get that they'd be throwing any development money away, but still. Some things do not translate to live action.

                        Looks horrible...unfunny as heck.

Never been a huge WWP fan. My favorite Walter Lantz character is Chilly Willy...
