    RIP Pat DiNizio (The Smithereens)

So sad to hear that Pat DiNizio has passed away. One of my favorite bands from the late 80's/90's. They bragged they were influenced by The Beatles and actually did an album called Meet The Smithereens:

Just a GREAT Rock n Roll Band. RIP Pat.

My band GARY84 opened for them on that Beatles tour (one date on the Sunset Strip).

    RIP

I worked with a guy who was a member of the Smithereens before they took off. He said they were much more popular overseas due to their British influences like the Beatles already mentioned.

I think Behind the wall of sleep still holds up.

62 is too young. I found out when I saw Julian Lennon post about it. RIP!

Got to meet Pat at a living room show years ago. An impressive man/musician who left many with a deep creative and positive vibe. Blood and Roses, indeed.

Great band! And I have seven of their CD's from the 80's and 90's. Behind the Wall of Sleep is a classic.

As was said above, 62 is too young.

Big fan. Saw them a couple times in Chicago and Milwaukee. The opening notes to "A Girl Like You" are some of the most distinctive in music history in my opinion.

I loved them in high school. Such a great band.
