No thank you. The last two PG-13 movies were nothing to get excited about.

My reaction to this is the same as the R-rated extended cut of Batman v. Superman: if they think adding more sex, violence, and profanity to these franchises is going to make them “better” then they’re doing it wrong.

IMHO, Star Trek and (the majority) DC characters are inherently counter to this sort of thing.

ugh. I agree with phil and number 6.
tarantino is a hack who steals, not references or pays homage.
so an "r" rated ST gets the green light but del toro can't get an "r" for lovecraft????

Tarantino is a brilliant director, my current favorite along with Martin Scorsese.

Having said that, no...I don’t want him near a Star Trek production...Tarantino would be all wrong for that.

I'd be excited for a Tarantino Star Trek film, but not rated R. He would need to adjust his ways, just a bit. I'd rather see him direct a Bond movie, which has long been his goal.

More violence in Star Trek movies is unnecessary, action and special effects works fine, just make a good well written story,
that's what's more important and skip any sex scenes, completely inappropriate for Star Trek story lines, a simple make out scene is good enough, how many girls did Kirk (Shatner) kiss on (TOS), nothing more.

Dressing sexy is one thing, just look at the outfits the girls were wearing in both the TOS and TNG and leave it to your imagination.

What!?!? He has done crime, WWII, horror, Westerns...

For the record, I'm all for this. These superhero characters, James Bond, Star Trek-- characters that we have spent our whole life with-- deserve the chance to be interpreted in interesting artistic directions. Nobody gets confused that Sherlock Holmes because he is sometimes Robert Downey Jr, sometimes Cumberbatch, and sometimes Peter Cushing in houndstooth. Especially for properties when the "mainstream" big studio representations have been so off the mark. What can it hurt! At least it will be original.

There is no way in the world, Star Trek should have a R rating, or that Tarentino should be directing it! Go find an original idea and leave our beloved Star Trek alone!

So what is the R for? Violence? Profanity? Nudity? There are a number of Trek aliens I would like to see 'more' of. Orions, Deltans, Caitians, oh my!

Star Trek Discovery is rated 'Mature', so that equates an "R" rating in cinematic standards. So, they've already gone there. Since I've watched the last two steaming piles that have been released in the theaters, I would like to see something by a different director.

Would love to see him take a shot at a 70's style Star Wars knockoff. and a Superhero movie maybe movie serial style, that's about all he hasn't done genre wise.
