I remember getting really psyched for VI during the previews in the 25th Anniversary TV Special. They showed the full trailer and some behind the scenes clips.
I love this movie. It vies with II for what I consider the best, and III for a personal favorite.
My friends Rob, Siskoid and David did a commentary on it that dropped this week on our network:

To me, when the actors signed off with signatures at the end of this movie, it was really the end of the Star Trek I knew and loved the most. I like most of what's been done with the franchise since then, but none of holds the same appeal to me. Since then, it's just been entertainment...not religion.Comment

Yes, that was really great, especially at the time.
