Dracula will turn you into the undead.

The Wolf Man will tear you apart.

Not David Cronenberg‘s version...that was one awesome movie. Jeff Goldblum was scary good.

Agree 110%, Hec. Of course, Cronenberg took it more down the sci-fi/horror path than the original did, IMHO. But still, the part where he dissolves the dude’s hand and ankle——wow, that’s gonna leave a mark!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Based on that, my wife would consider him the scariest.

Cronnenberg's is so shocking, even all these years later.

I haven't seen the '58 version, but, IMO, I'd be pretty freaked out in real life:

The original "The Fly" is a great movie. Very suspenseful, with a great mystery opening, and you get the body horror despite the more chaste era. The Cronenberg/Goldblum version is scary gross. It's so over-the-top. Nightmare fuel.

Goldblum's Fly along with Carpenter's Thing is the very few times where a remake is better than the original, imo
