Watched a lot of Gomer when I was a kid, and of course The Andy Griffith Show, which has emerged as my favorite non-genre classic TV show. He's great in that. Great comic timing, and he played dumb so convingly well, but always with a heart of gold.

When I first heard him sing "Go Tell It On The Mountain" on a Time-Life Christmas compilation album...WOW!!! Mind blown. What a voice.

            RIP.

RIP sir, a person of great talent and personal courage. Those first several seasons of Andy Griffith were perfect, and you contributed mightily to that. Shazam!

Ditto that. My all-time favorite show. He was great as Goober's cousin Gomer. When Barney took everyone for a a ride in his new car, he was sitting in the back seat. They asked him how he was doing. He said, "sick as a dog but having the time of my life."

Rest in peace Mr. Nabors... You made a lot of people smile and that's a great thing.

Oh wow...that's so sad. I remember him on Andy Griffith, Gomer Pyle, and The Lost Saucer, (I have the VHS tape pictured above). I also heard him sing on his and other variety shows and was always amazed how he could change his voice from the "hick" to such a powerful singing voice! We'll miss you, Jim.
