    FTC Devil Cape

So today, while moving figures around, I saw that My custom Trickster, which used the FTC Devil Cape,
(from the monsters series 2 line)
had some black bits laying flaking on the cape. Seems that whatever material they used to make this cape seem "leathery"
(looks like a very cheap thin vinyl over a cloth cape) doesn't hold up and it starts to flake and peel off the cape.

I know because of a few cold days I've been running the heater more so maybe that had something to do it.
Nevertheless, I essentially went ahead and stripped off this stuff because (1) it shrunk in spots, thus leaving holes where it
peeled away, and (2), the cloth cape looks better without it IMHO.

Just posting for others who may have this cape / figure in their collection, who might want to check it.

Same thing happens with their Fonzie jacket. Not sure if they use the same material or not.

probably, or at least the same process ( thin vinyl sewed over cloth)

I've seen this for years on lots of toys. It cheap materialso. The first thing I saw it on was the 12 Darth Vader from the 90s. That black starts peeling and makes a huge mess. It get gummy too. You might remember all the reissue Gijoe wetsuits rotting on the dolls. I know the. Vintage ones did it,but they took 30 years.

I know the mego Talos collar suffers from the same fate, I have a couple and one is fine and the other has that issue.
