Rest In Peace, Former Astronaut Richard Gordon(1929-2017)

I just found out that former Gemini and Apollo astronaut Richard F. Gordon passed away on November 6 at the age of 88. He was born on October 5, 1929 in Seattle, Washington and grew up in Kingston, Washington. He graduated from North Kitsap Sr. High School in Poulsbo, Washington in 1947 and attended the University Of Washington. He served as a navy pilot prior to joining NASA as part of Project Gemini and Apollo 9 & 12. He retired from NASA in 1972 and worked in the NFL for a brief time. Rest in peace to a fellow North Kitsap Viking and former Kitsap County resident. Condolences go out to his family.

Sad news, indeed. High reverence here, as well, for those early astronauts. Rest In Peace.
