Anybody ever try Popeye's Cajun Thanksgiving Turkey ?

Apparently this has been around for a few years elsewhere but around these parts it's new this year.

Reviews seem to be outstandingly favorable.

Just wondering if anyone here tried one ....

Am going to my Nephews for my official Thanksgiving dinner but was wondering if I should order a Popeye's one for day-old cold sandwiches etc.

      So, you've had a bad experience ?

Do you think it was because of an undercooked turkey ? ... or did your gut just not enjoy the Cajun spices ?

      Please elaborate further---

Just to let you know ... this isn't a joke thread ...

I like Cajun. But on Thanksgiving, I’m a sucker for traditional turkey.

The thing about places like Popeyes and KFC whole turkey offerings are that they are expensive and the turkeys are tiny.

I saw this advertised at the end of a Popeye's commercial earlier this week. Looks good!

Cindy does put a bit of Chacerie's Creole Seasoning on her turkey. Gives it just a bit of a spicy zest. So I guess technically, we kind of have Cajun turkey anyway.

She makes the best damn turkey I've ever tasted. Turkey is dry and relatively tasteless if not prepared well.

If Cindy's turkey is not available to the masses your comment makes me hate you all that much more

                  I already bought my turkey...

Bought it fresh last week, but froze it. Will take it out of the freezer and place it inside the fridge three days before Thanksgiving for thawing. Had to buy it super early, as these Trader Joe’s turkeys fly off the shelf. They are pricey, but they are already brined...

Once upon a time there was a small trucking company with a very overweight, chain smoking, and probably diabetic receptionist who was rude to everyone who worked there. One day a dock worker walked in and was suddenly assaulted with one of her tirades, to which he replied "So who ****ed in your Post Toasties?" I started work the following Tuesday. My first assignment was to go out in the yard, in July, in Texas, to help the terminal manager and a worker from San Antonio. The worker had a trailer of machine parts. He broke down a shipment for Popeyes Chicken and loaded it over the parts, consisting mostly of the breading they put on their spicy chicken. Then he loaded a pallet of butter over that. In July. In Texas. In a dry trailer, which came down to our yard on Friday night and sat allllll weekend. The butter melted through the spicy mix and took it into the machine parts, which I now had to help them clean so that they could be delivered. That powder ate through 6 pairs of gloves! That is why I do not go to Popeyes or eat anyone's spicy chicken. True story.

Moe: hey! are you going to eat that turkey all alone?
Larry: no, maybe if I wait I'll get some potatoes.
                        Moe: What flavor?
                        Larry: Mashed.
                        Moe: You got it.

Good luck Hector, and enjoy the NFL games or if you prefer the Treksgiving day marathon.
and don't forget, this turkey may contain giblets.

Did anybody here ever do the full turkey deep fried thing ?

It seems like it would be good but dang dangerous to make...

Was actually thinking about trying it (outside, of course) but I don't think my landlord would approve
