WOW! I had no idea about that back story. I always just assumed it was all a publicity sham.

^ That is a great story!! I figured it was something made-up, as well. Wow!

By the way, Bill (or anyone), what is the Sub-Mariner item that you posted. I've looked at the photo and recall a Submariner item in the back of comics, but I can't remember what it was and I can't tell from the photograph. So, what is it?

I assume it came from this line...

though the ad only offers Thor or Spidey, I think they made others later.

Cool, I was wondering what that was as well.

I really want that Jeff Jones portfolio and some of those Marvel blacklight posters pictured (a local comic shop has a couple of those posters for sale, but they are asking a lot of $$$ for them).

I really want the Creature mask that I paid for and never got. I kinda remember sending cash, even though it specifically asked for checks or money orders. That may explain why I never got it.

I have a 1979 Fantastic Four comic (from childhood) and it has an ad for Kryptonite Rocks. $2.50 each. On the order form it reads "Yes! I'm a friend of Superman. Please send me __ Kryptonite Rocks @ $2.50 each." That first sentence is pretty funny.

    Here it is:

Here they are: (they don't look too bad)

The same issue of Fantastic Four has an ad in the front cover for Battlestar Galactica t-shirts. $4.99 each.
