To be fair, I'm probably biased against D vs. F because I hated seeing what Lon Chaney Jr. had become by that point in his life. It was painful for me to watch.

To be fair, Sam Sherman (Adamson's partner) is a tremendous film fan, he worked for Warren during the heyday. He hired those guys purely out of love but yeah, they're not in good places. It's a really interesting movie to watch with Sam Sherman's commentary because it's insane how this got made.

A lot of Adamson's films are fly by night productions, filmed on end pieces and done especially for the cheap. Some good comes of this but it's drive-in cinema.

^Hmmm...maybe I'll give it another look. Might even take a chance on the set if it's not too terribly expensive.

I'm running out of genre films that I haven't seen, so I'm always looking for more.

You should be able to pick up the DVDs for next to nothing these days. I've upgraded a lot of my library but I think I sold them all, I'll check if i have any doubles.

I have D vs. F on Blu-ray. Bought it as soon as it came out. I had vague memories of seeing it in the 70's but I was little and it was like some great work of cinema to a seven year old. LOL

Do yourself a favour and watch it with the commentary.

It will come down to price for me. Sadly, I've been finding a lot of my blind buys lately have disappointed me, and so I'm selling off a lot of titles I thought I would like.

                  Ok, bare with me

we watched this film in class today

TOKYO STORY (1953: Yasujiro Ozu-director) and was told it is considered one of the
                  greatest films of all time.

Okayyyyy. after 2 hours and 15 minutes, I am a bit stumped.

Has anyone here seen it and if so comments????

Has The Abominable Dr. Phibes ever gotten an American Blu-ray release?

Yes, on the Scream Factory Vincent Price Volume I set. Now out of print and ridiculously expensive.

I ended up buying the Arrow release from the UK, but I can't remember if it's region free or not.
