Official King Kong Water Gun by AHI

I haven't really added anything to my collection of Azrak-Hamway monster stuff in a long time. Mostly because the stuff I want is either a) extremely hard to find or b)insanely expensive or a combination of the two.

That's why I was excited to snag this open carded Kong squirt gun at the last Mego Meet for a decent price.

The AHI water guns are notoriously hard to find loose, so getting any on the card is a nice get. I don't know if I'll ever find a creature so it was nice to have at least one.

However, this display still gives me goosebumps and probably always will....

Not only is a spitting giant ape insanely cool, but I've always loved that publicity photo with the lightning on which the card art interpretation is based. Cool share.

Ah, the Crestwood House books. I didn't know of them as a kid, but I have several now thanks to my wife's library discarding them. Their trash is my treasure.

I had the CFTBL water gun since I figured it made sense, since he lived in the water and all that.

These guns were all very cool, and the likenesses are great.

Do you remeber anything about where and how you got it? If it was carded or in the display, etc? And, of course, what happened to it? I'm still on the hunt for one, forty plus years later.

I was probably around 7 or 8 but I don't remember getting it in an actual toy store, it was most likely in a pharmacy store
toy section or possibly Kresges. I do remember getting the ahi monsters at Kresges, so if I had to make a guess on
the water guns it was most likely Kresge's.

Very cool. They were definitely distributed there, as the Kong above illustrates.
