    Collegeville's TV assortment

I love this assortment from 1969, the majority of these characters would end up on costumes for decades. Promotion for these was done on TV spots but not in the usual manner but through participation with the myriad of local kid's shows that peppered the landscape at the time.

Here are a couple of photos:

I get such a kick out of pics like these. People can laugh at these costumes now and I can understand why, but they didn't seem silly or flimsy to me when I was a kid, when I'd put on one of these costumes I really felt cool and never like, "Oh this is just flimsy paper and plastic"! I can remember going to the local Jewel grocery store and the Halloween aisle was stacked with dozens and dozens of these boxes.

Speaking of, some boxed Ben Cooper/Collegeville costumes make a brief cameo in a store scene or two in the new "Stranger Things" episodes. My wife and I about jumped off the couch in excitement when we saw them, haha.
