<sigh!> Music remains in the fabric of humanity and holds far more solace than I. Thank you Mr. Petty.

Oh man, this is terrible news, I've always really liked the man and his music. RIP Tom.

Full Moon Fever and Into the Great Wide Open got a lot of plays from me years ago. Always loved his style. Too young!

It is so sad, and hits so hard when a legend like this goes. He is arguably one of the best American songwriters ever. His songs will live on forever, and we will always have that never ending catalog of great songs.
Thank you for your music and RIP Tom Petty.

This one hit me hard too. One of the best! Who'd have thunk Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan would be the last two Wilburys standing?!?!?!

And then tonight I get news that Bob Seger has postponed all his shows for medical reasons. He was coming to Greenville soon (10/5)!

^Oh no! Just saw Seger for the third time in Cincinnati two weeks ago. Fantastic show. He did say he'd been under the weather a bit, during the show.

Tom Petty was on the A-side of the soundtrack of my life. Fortunately his musical legacy will be with me and all his fans forever.

                  Some things are over
                  Some things go on
                  Part of me you carry
                  Part of me is gone

"Walls" is a beautiful song. Thanks for sharing that today.

"I Won't Back Down", in addition to being a perfect rock/pop song, has also helped me through some extremely tough times in both my personal and professional life. It doesn't candy coat that things are tough, but promotes strength against adversity...along with one catchy tune.

^ A true classic which I'm sure has helped or been an inspiration to many.

Took Tom to work. "Honey don't walk out, I'm too drunk to follow" is one of the greatest opening lines to a song.

You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.

Back in the day when I was making Priority Box Captain Kirk chairs this song was my theme song --- only because it was always played on the classic rock station I used to listen too -- local Hawk station

This is a hard one. Loved his music quite a bit over the years. My thoughts and prayers definitely go out to his loved ones. So sad. One of the greats gone too soon. Hopefully he's jamming with friends.
