Mel is an extremely nice man, we've had many long exchanges. He's a collector and it shows, I wish every toy line had a guy like Mel behind it to tell their story.

His concept for Max would have sold.

The loss of that still stings a bit. The classic monsters protos are amazing. Could have been a super fun and successful line. I can't imagine what they were thinking even including Freddy in a line aimed at kids.
