he was truly an icon of the age. 91 is a good long life. RIP Hef!
I have been seeing a lot of negative comments on FB about him because he sexualized women, yadda yadda yadda.......come on people, he did not force women to pose nude, they were happy to do it for a lot of money.....and in fairness there are nudey men mags out there too, so people need to get a grip

I don't pretend that a toy forum is a venue for a nuanced discussion of pornography or the industry of sex. I am in fact not against porn, but I doubt the families of women such as Dorothy Stratten would like to be told to "get a grip." There's a big difference between consensual sexualization, even empowerment, and exploitation.

I have a grudging respect for Hefner as a pioneer, even as a publisher--but I always saw him as something of a self-indulgent cad. Sorry if I'm buzzkiling the thread.

                    Useless trivia nobody cares about...

I grew up not very from the Great Gorge Playboy Club.

In it's last days the movie See No Evil, Hear No Evil with Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder was filmed there.

I'll read Hugh Hefner's obituary to peruse the naked women.
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
