RIP Screaming Eagle of Soul, Charles Bradley

I really didn't come to appreciate Mr. Bradley until the last ten years or so… his art is timeless power soul. Silly me, I should have been listening to him my whole life… The World (Is Going Up In Flames)

The singer, inspired as a teen by James Brown, didn't release his first album until 2011, at the age of 62. For the six years that followed, through a battle with cancer, he never wasted a moment.

Yeah, I saw this the other day. I became familiar with him through my radio station WFUV here in New York. That's the second GREAT from the Daptone label that has passed away in the last 2 years. RIP Charles.

I loved his music, his story and him. I'm truly sad he passed.

I'm still heartbroken over this. I was lucky enough to see him once years ago, and I'll never forget it.

He was an amazing performer and a beautiful human being.
