    Star Wars....exclusively at Sears

While I personally don't remember the Rebel Command Center (which surprises me) I do recall the weird loyalty you had to have to Sears in order to "collect" Star Wars figures as a kid.

Sears wasn't close to our house, so I'd have to tag along with my mum to get groceries or other mundane tasks in order to get my hands on the all important Ugnaught (which was exclusive and came on a weird card in Canada).

They also closed for inventory at 6pm every Thursday, that shouldn't be a fact a ten year old knows but dammit, it was a hard lesson!

Those really are amazing Action Toys.

I missed out on the cardboard inserts for the Rebel Bases (Command Center), always would find the snowy plastic part, which was still pretty cool.

Sears had some really good toys over the years.

I loved it when bits of Star Wars showed up at auctions.

That base was a reuse item. It's the same base they used for the cardboard sandcrawler (molded in white) and for the cardboard AT-AT. They got a lot of use out if that mold by simply swapping the cardboard backdrop.

OMG...when that catalog arrived, I spent hours staring at that ad page.

EDIT: Is there a different catalog produced with the Wompa instead of Rebel Command?

At that time, only the Remco Monsters topped Empire.

Lovely, lovely. I enjoy the poses of the characters whooping it up with their arms in the air.

Ah! Yeah. Very cool. So that's why there are big Sandcrawler tracks on it!

Yeah especially with the Rebel Troopers. It's like "We've been captured by the Empire! Hooray!"
