    Greatest toy idea...

It occurred to me that we have a reversal of situations since the 80's, when Mattel held the Marvel license, and Kenner held the DC license.

Now, it's the opposite. Can you just imagine for a moment if these two companies expanded their past toy lines with new figures? Mattel could make DC figures in the Secret Wars mold, and Hasbro could make Marvel Super Powers style figures.

Nothing crazy, just a dozen or so figures on each side. They would each make a FORTUNE with collectors.

It would be the most amazing thing EVER.

Who here wouldn't buy a Super Powers Captain America with shield slinging action? A Super Powers Iron Man with repulsor blast action? A Secret Wars Batman with secret shield?

That is a very clever idea.

With Mattycollector returning, I bet you could pitch that and see it happen. Then Hasbro would follow suit.

Excuse the sloppy lines. I'm exhausted.

If Hasbro would make a line of classic designed Marvel heroes in a Super Powers style, I would definitely want every single one of those.

Secret Wars-style DC...well, not so much. I like Secret Wars, and still have all my childhood figures. But they were far inferior to Kenner's SP. So the demand for those to continue with DC characters isn't as great for me.

Honestly, I wish Hasbro would get the DC license back so we can finally get a true SP extension/tribute line. Plus the Hasbro Marvel offerings just look better than most of the Mattel DCs these days.

I have to agree; SP-style Marvel figures would be awesome, but Secret Wars-style DC? No thanks.

I'm on board! But the Super Powers was superior, yes.

SP would certainly be cooler, but this has a much greater chance of happening with Mattel as they would hella cheap to produce.
