Curious - why does keeping these guys on their backing cause them to enter make-an-offer territory?

Costs more to ship when they are carded. You can fit up to 10 loose figures plus packing in a medium sized Priority Mailer Box, but carded,
only two will fit without bending cards, three if you don't mind slight bends. People who want carded figures pay for pristine CARDS, not figures.

Who says you have to use Priority Mailer boxes?

You don't, but may shippers find it easier / don't have access to boxes they can recycle.

I for one, have a lot of both due to buying and selling on ebay / amazon / etsy, so I can use (recycle) whatever is easiest and cheapest on both parties.
of late, Priority Mail has been it 7 out of 10 times. plus living between two major USPS stations help in that decision....
the nearest FedEx dropoff is 6 miles from my house, UPS drop off is 18 miles from my house!
              YMMV....

I get all that, but you can buy boxes of many sizes at Walmart, Office Depot, etc for a couple of bucks if you don't have any on hand. Seems crazy to charge several hundred more to ship these carded when you don't have to.

But then you have to charge the Customer for the Box? (Shipping AND Handling?)

So no one is saving at that point?

That all silly, if the buyer will pay the shipping then in or out of the package simply is not relevant. But when the seller wants to add 50 bucks because you want the packaging and have you pay shipping he's just trying to pull a fast one. This is why I did not buy about $500 worth of stuff from this seller. Sorry to call it out but that's the facts.

skullface can try to twist it anyway he wants. It was about not wanting to pay the price offered. He asked and I said no to a lower price and calls me a cheater, whatever.

Dude you listed the monsters at 150. When I asked about the packaging you said it would be another 50 plus like 20 more to ship. So 150 became 220. When I asked about other items in package every item became sky high. I tried asking you why the large increases if I wanted the packaging? No real answer. If you are only willing to sell out of package then why show in box pictures.Or you could try listing them both ways and let the buyer decide. Try being up front. I was more than prepared to spend. You shot yourself in the foot. I can see by the way others responded in your others listing that they also are struggling to undersand your logic on the packaging.

You're obviously not understanding my point.
This is what I'm specifically responding to:

"Full set of Mattel Retro Action Figures
21 carded figures plus 4 loose figures - $500 shipped (US only, Paypal preferred) OR all 25 loose for $300 shipped"

There is no way it costs $200 more to ship these carded vs loose. Even factoring in a few bucks to buy a box. But whatever.

So Warlock664 had the same experience I did. This is exactly what I was saying. I wanted Alot of this but got the same info. I wish the seller good luck but I am flabbergasted at this pricing for the packaging.
