    GI Joe's 50 Adventures

Moving things around yesterday I looked at the back of GI Joe package for the first time in years and was kind of blown away at how striking it is.

It really shows how powerful this artwork was, no wonder I'm a junkie for it some 40 years later.

I have some of the revised sets when GIJoe was making a comeback in the 90s:

    Secret of the Mummy's Tomb
    Danger In The Depths
    Sky Dive To Danger
    Black Widow Rendevous

And with pieces from different sets I've made:
    Secret Mission to Spy Island

I also have numerous pieces from the Hall Of Fame Guys that work w/ the Adventures of GI stuff.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

I bought about half of them and gave them to my son. Joe never caught on with him sadly.

I don't collect this line, but that is wonderful, iconic artwork, great stuff!

I'll admit I kinda want to get that training center tower to set up in the middle of my office.

Yeah same with mine. Action figures in general don't do much for him. He has a couple on his shelf because I have so many in my office, but at 10, he's past it and he never loved them much anyway. He's all about video games.

Mine loved Justice League figures and eventually he absorbed my entire collection. I was happy about it and now that he's a teen, we're piecing his collection back together.

But he never gave a toss about Mego or Joe.

I had the Viewmaster reels and the Training Tower, but then I got into Mego heroes and we moved soon after that and all my Joe toys were given away to friends of the family who had sons around my age. The only Joes I got to keep were the Intruder (that I used as a villain for my Megos) and the 8 inch Super Joe that I could hide from my folks with the Megos.

Oh yeah, you don't have one right? At least I don't remember seeing one in your toy room, but I'm sure you could squeeze one in there! You have more space, it would be a really tough go in my room.
                    Those View-master pics are great!

Sadly, my son never had any interest in any action figures at all. And believe me, I tried to be a good influence in that regard.

where is the green tower from? and a blue helicopter? was that just something they did in the view master set? I love the Joe AT stuff. I bought the tower but it is just so damn big. I had it on display for a while but ended up putting it away

Sadly,I never had Joes as a kid. They were pretty much done when I was old enough to get into them. I've been making up for lost time very quickly.

Still the best artwork to me. Love the Joes, the more fuzz, the better.

Man, I missed out on that. Just a hair too young.
