It really irks me that Google didn't recognize Kirby's 100th birthday with a banner on their homepage. I mean, they celebrate people no one's ever heard of, yet Jack Kirby's imagination helped fuel a good chunk of what Hollywood is outputting these days. Thor: Ragnarok and Justice League are based largely on Kirby concepts alone!

There is truly only ONE King of comics art and Kirby is his name. That man had the most fantastic imagination, possibly on a similar level to Einstein's sheer intelligence. Easily three quarters of what we see in the pop culture world today can be attributed to his mind and his hand. Long Live the King!!!!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

                I Love this thread!

As much as I love Kirby there's always new things to discover. Just last week I came across this collage from "Spirit World" in full colour - which I had never seen before (only the monotone version in the magazine):

Wow, great stuff guys. I almost always forget about Big Jim's P.A.C.K., since I just missed it, but it had to be a lot of kids' intro to Kirby.
