Interviewer Dan: Why no Robin?
Designer Reis: I think that the original plan was to only focus on the various Batman and Batmobile color ways. Sorry, Robin!

I found these 2 comprehensive sites called "Guide to Tin Toys Batmobile and Vehicles" and "A Guide To Taiwan CIEN GE (Modern Art) Tin Batmobile Collection" (vehicles' details and their packages). They are full of information from this collector " o(*g*)o " :

I honestly thought it was supposed to resemble the Super Powers Batmobile until I read the article. Would've been more identifiable as the Japanese toy if they'd gone with translucent green on the windshield bubbles.
I like them, but with each one they announce, it breaks me further from any notions of being a completist with the line.Comment

Not just more identifiable, but a world more appealing, too! Boo to them for skipping the red exhaust pipes as well. Hard to fathom how they got that awful Dorbz right, color affectation-wise, but ignored the same nods on the superior sculpt. Bah!>>> Looking for a few Bif Bang Pow! pretties. After looking more into the Batmania art from Japan, the Asian tin Batmobiles & vehicles, and those Taiwan Cien Ge blue Batmobiles --particularly with *orange canopies*-- I can not help but wonder if the '80s Kenner Super Powers designers came up with the Batmobile (&Batcopter) with orange canopies as nods to the Taiwan toys from the 70s. When I was younger, those orange Super Powers canopies always seemed wrongly coloured to my Western-encultured adolescent brain. Lately, I recognize a few Batboat art pieces in yellow/gold, some pretty zany and colourful takes on Batplanes, and wide array of Batcycles / Bat-Cars with the '60s-70s Batmanga flavor. I am looking at these latest Funko offerings, and I am gathering an appreciation for the cross-germination of the international costume and vehicle colors of Batman (& Robin too). Good for Funko! That latest blue Batmobile is my favourite shade of blue: It looks really *Rich*, and I love it.Last edited by comicmike; Aug 30, '17, 10:59 PM.Comment
