So, I've finally come to terms with the fact that Diamond will never get around to releasing Vina -- the last Star Trek figure to complete my Mego Trek collection the way I wanted.

I know CTVT sells a green female body. And studying stills from the show, I think I can put together a Mego-satisfactory version of her costume.

But her head . . .

Any thoughts on doing a green head with rooted hair? I’d be OK with either of the CTVT generic brunette sculpts, if I could get one with green skin. But I’m stuck trying to figure out a way to make her face green.

Ideas, anyone?

Synthetics dye, or vinyl paint would work, but color matching would be hard.

I would suggest de-rooting a FTC "IG" head, dying it, then having it re-rooted. Possible re-detailing the eyes.

The dye will not affect the existing face paint. Lonnie makes a valid point, but the FTC head is a fairly pale vinyl and kelly green dye with a bit of blue added should work. (I'm assuming the FTC body is close to Mego's green.) Luckily, the heads are cheap and you can experiment.

Keeping the head in the dye bath longer can intensify the color, as well.
