      I'm with you on 1 and 2:

      1. Goldfinger. Perfect formula Bond.
      2. OHMSS
      3. From Russia With Love
      4. Dr. No. Excellent adapted improvement of the novel, which is a bit pulpy and Sax Romer-ish.
      5. Thunderball.
      6. For Your Eyes Only

It's overblown, but I also like You Only Live Twice, it's got a rococo flair.

      I'm predisposed to early Bond.

I agree with your list, dead on.

On Her Majesty Secret Service...gets overlooked sometimes because Bond was George Lazenby, but he was actually a pretty darn good 007...and the movie is excellent, plus it had my favorite babe, Diana Rigg. Telly Savalas made a great villain. The only movie where Bond got married. Good call placing it at number two just behind the classic of all classics, Goldfinger. Glad Casino Royale is in your top five, it's a throwback Bond movie, Daniel Craig became a great Bond instantly. Roger Moore was only my third or fourth favorite Bond (after Connery, Craig, and tied with Lazenby)...but The Spy Who Loved Me is friggin awesome, top three for sure.

Runners up, Dr No, Skyfall, and You Only Live Twice.

I think my two favorites are Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker. I also think A view to a kill is a fun movie. Christopher Walken was a great villain.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Now, we're talking. Bond is my favorite thing in the movies.

              1. Goldfinger
              2. OHMSS
              3. Skyfall
              4. From Russia With Love
              5. Dr. No
              6. For Your Eyes Only
              7. Spy Who Loved Me
              8. Diamonds Are Forever
              9. Goldeneye
              10. Licence To Kill

And I agree, Live and Let Die is my least favorite, too.

Best Bond with the worst movies: Pierce Brosnan
Best movie with worst Bond: On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Worst movie: Quantum of Solace. I've seen this one twice, I still don't know what happened.
Biggest waste: Diamonds are Forever. Two hours of Sean Connery collecting a paycheck and going through the motions. Marlon Brando-esque.
                  Best Bond Girl: Jane Seymour
Best theme song: Nobody Does it Better..though Live and Let Die is just as good.
Worst sequence: Live and Let Die- The whole overly long boat chase/Dopey southern sheriff sequence. Completely derails a movie that I like up until that point.
Best Opening: The Spy Who Loved Me. Skiing and the Union Jack flag parachute. 'Nuff said.
                  Best Bond: Connery
                  Favorite Bond: Moore

But there's something to like about every Bond movie.

I dunno why so many people regard On Her Majesties Secret Service as such a good James Bond flick.

Ok it had a great soundtrack --- and yes the Bond marriage was great.

Other than that, the movie was slow-moving at a snails pace when Bond wasn't in action.

George L. was undoubtedly the worst actor EVER to play James Bond ... I mean his acting ability is just one step better than OJ Simpson (pre murder trial)

It seemed the producers had so little faith in the film being a success the entire beginning musical sequence was filled with Sean Connery clips so maybe the audience might forget instead of Connery we're getting a stiff mannequin who can't act.

I also didn't care for Telly as Blofeld ---- It seems nobody told Telly Blofeld is more than just a gangster kind of villain.

All that said, I didn't hate the movie, but just think it doesn't deserve the high marks it usually gets

                      Ok I'll start
Yes Lazenby wasn't a trained actor. He looked like Bond (from the novels)
And sometimes when you look the part the people watching you assume the rest.

Telly played the part like Lex in Superman 1978 should have been. A member of high society who is cultured and enjoys the finer things but also has a thug mentality.

Diana Rigg was in my opinion the best Bond girl and if Bond was to be tied down she's the one he would do it for.

To be fair OHMSS doesn't feel like a typical bond film and wasn't played on TV/cable like the other films were until the 80's so to many it was considered a forgotten Bond film so that takes away the nostalgia for 70's kids.

What he said, plus Lazenby is a passable actor, not terrible by any measure. Also, the action is a cut above the rest of the series, well edited and fast paced. Do I wish Connery was still in it or even that Moore had gotten the part, yes, but what is there is quite great anyway.

I agree with what's been said above to defend OHMSS. It's one of 4 Bond films I can watch over and over, at the drop of a hat. I've always liked Savalas and I think he's working hard (and succeeding IMO) to play against type as Blofeld. And too, it's a slightly atypical Bond film and that's a plus IMO. The formula is there, but deftly used. The action and locations are spectacular. Diana Rigg is superb.

I like Lazenby. Sure he was green, but he was tough and suave as Bond should be. I liked Moore as the Saint, but could never warm to his glib smoothness as Bond.
