[Confessional]

My silly simian summer fun continues with a run of Cornelius & Zira ApeOnauts… now envisioned as mid-century classic sci-fi Astro Apes!

Wacky mix of vintage, modern, custom bits and found objects abound in their styling. Thanks to -bleit- for the sweet silver suits. The plastic skirt was a nightmare to make and cutting cheap clear ornaments from China without cracking them is an interesting challenge. Oh, because I used a Zica bod (plug-n-play goodness!) I added an alternate Zira head… she rocks a com set like no one else!

Freaking gorgeous! I always wonder why there wasnt more of a push for POTA in space scenarios, especially in comics. I would love to see a gorilla soldier out of his element and dealing with alien races. But, seeing your first pics, I would love to see a tv series done in 60-70s style with a crew of apes in a Lost in Space background.
