Anyone ever seen this one? It was on Svengoolie last night. A strange western/vampire hybrid that was totally serious and actually worked. I had never even heard of it before. It's totally ignored in every Universal Horror book or article I've read. A surprisingly good story that harkens back to actual Europen vampire folklore more than Bram Stoker and previous Universal films. It has some familiar faces too, like Eric Flemming from Rawhide and John Hoyt, Dr. Boyce from Star Trek's "The Cage", playing a doctor here too. Michael Pate plays the vampire gunslinger and comes across as a dark complexioned James Coburn, which isn't a bad thing.
As often the case, the poster is a bit misleading. The vampire doesn't wear a cape.
