New ep of Star Trek Continues: "What Ships Are For"

Maybe the best one yet! (yeah yeah...I know you think I'd say that anyway) Check it out!

Methinks that 'Kirk' needs to have his voice pitched down a tad - he's midway to a spot in The Chipmunks as is!

Wow, never knew that existed, pretty cool, Sharry.

Is this a Paramount licensed web show?

You know, the following may create some controversy...but that Asian actor makes a great looking Spock. I always thought African-Americans made good Klingons and Asians made good Vulcans and Romulans.

I may have to start watching this...

      P.S. I googled, it's a fan-made non-profit production...so they are allowed to use the characters, music, etc...very cool...

      Thanks for SHARing...SHARRY...

Actually, Vic's natural speaking voice is higher than that. And his Kirk voice is just fine!

You're welcome Hector. Late to the party, but better late than never. STC has been out since 2012. And sadly b/c of Alec Peters and that whole stupid Axanar thing, there will only be 2 more eps of STC after this one. (please don't de-rail the thread b/c of that statement, folks). But it's pretty cool, right?

                Seen it last night.

Thought the story was ok but not great ...

I would say roughly a For the World is Hollowish kinda story... Not much action and heavy on the classic Star Trek love theme music.

For a production and technical rating I give it AAAAA+++++

Overall, an entertaining watch but not the best

Actually, I'd harken it to "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield" rather than "For The World Is Hollow". And I've watched it 3 times already!

I liked it; actually better than any other Trek these days. After watching this episode, I finally took the time to watch their Mirror, Mirror (sequel/continuation?) episode afterwards and it was really good - it's probably the best of the bunch.

This series has been a great project put together by folks who you can see that they care greatly for the property and their contribution to it. If you ever get a chance to see the video of Mignogna giving a tour of the sets, you'll hear and see just how excited he is to be a part of this. He's like a little kid.

One thing about this episode. . . I was not aware that DeLancie was in it despite his face being on the poster. When he appeared on screen, I was taken aback. It was awesome to see him in Trek again even though it was not a the great "Q"
If I had only spent a tenth of the time studying Physics that I spent learning Star Wars and Baseball trivia, I would have won the Nobel Prize.

It was ok, I saw the "twist" ending coming a mile away.

Yes, I've seen a couple of videos of him showing off his "ship". Man, I wish I could see it in person!

I thought this episode was fantastic...VERY well written, and even though there wasn't much action I was immediately drawn into the story. I really enjoyed the banter/jokes at the beginning. This was also a very topical and moving episode. I admit to getting a little teary-eyed at the end. THIS is what Star Trek should be. I'll take an episode of this over the new series or J.J. Abrams ANY DAY.

                            Wonderful!
