On our flea market excursion yesterday, I found something cool to add to my 1976 King Kong collection, a Ben Cooper costume (my first). The outfit looks brand new, unused and features a rather charming, simpler rendition of the theatrical poster artwork. The box is pretty generic but still has some neat, very off model superhero artwork. I would have preferred Kong specific artwork or at least a window, because right now I'm not sure how to display this.

That's cool! I distinctly remember having that same mask as a kid... not sure what happened to the rest of the costume, or whether I somehow just picked up the mask by itself somewhere.PUNY HUMANS!Comment

My oldest brother used to sit beside our bed with that mask as we awoke from a sound sleep and scare us. Good memories. Still smile every time I see that Kong mask.Check out my website: Megozine Covers - HomeComment

Wow! So you have the play suit and not the plastic costume! Sweet! It will display a lot better w/ less wrinkles. Nice grab!"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."Comment

Thanks Sharry. Yeah, at first I thought this was just a normal plastic Halloween costume (I'm not too knowledgeable on Ben Cooper stuff), so I was really surprised that it was made of fabric and was a whole suit with legs and everything. Now if I just had the extra wall space in my office I would be hanging up this bad boy.Comment
