National Lampoon's Fans

I recently stumbled into this production on IMDb - "A Futile & Stupid Gesture" - it's a biopic about National Lampoon's.

David Wain is directing and I guess the central character is Doug Kenney who's being played by Will Forte.

I have a feeling that the rest of this cast will spark a lot of debates:

Oh yeah, i read something about McHale getting Chase's blessing to do this.

For me, this is a must see, I not only loved Lampoon but I'm a huge fan of Wain's work.

The documentary "Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead" is also a must see.

Gotta admit,their choice for Chevy Chase made me laugh,have to see if all of their time together on "Community' pays off.

I'm a big Wain fan too - and yup - McHale was one of the casting choices that really stood out.

It's a little funny to me that most of these comedy veterans are playing people 10 and 20 years younger.

My first guess was that they've figured out a way to use him as a narrator/ghost, but who knows.

Well, it would suit the whole spirit of Nat Lamp to be somewhat disrespectful.

Lonny Ross/Ivan Reitman
John Gemberling/John Belushi

Jackie Tohn is in GLOW and I think she'll work for Gilda Radner

Jon Daly as Bill Murray makes no immediate sense to me, but it should be fun to see.

I really got a lot out of watching it, so much so that I watched it again. I knew a little bit about the history and the individuals involved from what I had gleaned here and there over the years, but to have it pulled together and presented in this documentary was very interesting, to me.
