Mcfarlane Star Trek Kirk and Picard figures revealed.

    I'm surprised they are articulated.

Here's our first look at the all-new Star Trek 7" Scale Action Figures coming from McFarlane Toys! The new images reveal both Captain James T. Kirk from Star Trek: The Original Series and Captain Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation. These 7", fully articulated action figures look to be utilizing newly design hips...
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Nicer than expected, still a hard pass from me though.

Let's hope they conceal the articulation a bit more. Not crazy about the way the sleeves look.

Doesn't really look like the Shat. More like a young, short-haired Roddy Piper. The Picard is pretty nice.

            Shatner is a hard capture.

Looks exactly like him to me...Anyway, it's leaps and bounds better than the DST figures IMO.

At this point though, I'm just looking forward to more QMX figures, but I really hope they do some aliens. I'd probably pass out if they did the Salt Vampire or Gorn.

Shat's head looks too small with a fat neck

Not a very good Shatner likeness! That's a bummer.

I'm a big Morgan Woodward fan. He often played characters much older than he actually was. He already looked like an old man back in the 60's. He's 91 now.

So Star Trek is probably my favorite universe, but these will be a reluctant pass for me. I've already invested in the Mezco and Qmx lines, not to mention Mego and EMCE. Oh and those boxes of Playmates toys in my basement that taunt me. I just can't see adding in another series of fairly mediocre depictions of the same guys.

Having said that, I hope the line does well and I'll likely end up with a Spock or something, but they'll have to succeed without my $ this time.

It's funny you should mention that. I checked out his wiki page after watching the episode I was expecting he died sometime in the 70-80's but was shocked to find out he is still alive. Woodward would have been only 40 when he played Van Gelder.

You know, it seems hard these days to sell anything but Kirk, Picard, Spock etc. It's too bad really because there are a lot of cool characters I'd like to see (especially in Mego format) but those days may be gone.
