A big thumbs up on 10cc and STB. Never have been a huge Steely Dan fan, though; something about Donald ***en's voice never agreed with my ears...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

70s stuff, 80s stuff. Originally, I'm a 60s kid but I don't really remember it except in rerun.

This would be completely obscure if it weren't for Dave Ramsey. I remember this on the radio brand new from back seat of parental road trips.

        It's good stuff...STB and 10cc. I never minded Donald ***en's voice.

You guys are picking songs here and there, I can think of chunks of band catalogs that I don't hear anymore. I haven't heard any Dr. Hook in ages. Very little Steely Dan, America, Toto, Bee Gees, Seals&Croft, CSN. I hear The Knack more regularly in rotation.

Have always loved this song. I'm still fine tuning my various Apple Music radio stations, but this song is definitely in the mix. Great tune!

Here's one that, for some reason, asa kid, I pretty much detested, but now it ranks among my faves...

Are you kidding? That's only just about one of the best written love songs of all times. The lyrics actually get right in there and are very explicit if you listen carefully. And you can hear Grace Slick singing backup vocals. Now how cool is that?!

I remember this getting allot of radio play back in the day when I was shorter than the counter top. It was very popular in the early 70s and is a great song that you don't hear anymore. From the popular play/movie. (if perceived as too religious, remove. But great lost song)

Couple comments before I list my songs...
EMCE, if you have Sirius XM, check out the Yacht Rock channel 17 or 311. Kenny Loggins, Doobies, Steely Dan, Toto, and (I swear!) Seals & Crofts' " Diamond Girl" once an hour!
Next, I love "Venus" by ShockingbBlue, but you know, I never knew the lead was a girl. I always thought it was a guy with a high voice.

                        Ok, my picks:

I am sure that's part of my problem - all I have is what my ancient van pulls in on the FM dial on the way to work. I need to make some mix CDs - those are still hip, right?

I'm surprised no one mentioned Charlie Rich yet.
