Can the mods update this forum to add pics from our phone or computer without a third party service? I will gladly chip in a donation to make this possible.

Hmm...I kinda just assumed there was a way - but I didn't know for sure - so I played around:

If you can see the image then it worked and this is how I did it:

      1) upload your image to Dropbox
      2) hit "Share" then "Create a link", then hit "Copy link"
      3) (this is the tricky part that I had to Google) When you paste the link in your post it looks like this:

      https://www.dropbox.com/s/gphq3takdw...pbox-try2.jpg?dl=0

Change the part after the "?" that I've highlighted in red to this:
      raw=1

I think I have it working with Google Photos too. It took a bit of mucking around, but I think this should work:

If you see this image, this is how I added it:

        1) Upload to Google Image and add/create shared album - then add the image to your shared album
        2) Select the image so it's expanded in the slideshow mode (hopefully that makes sense) then you'll want to select the image's URL using your browser. In Chrome use the right mouse button and select "Copy Image Address"
        3) Paste the link in the forum like you'd normally do. I see some people are having issues with certain types of forums. It seems Mego Museum worked fine with the normal link, but apparently some forums might require you to add "-tmp.jpg" or "?.jpg" to the end of your link.

Also, be warned, the link is HUGE. TinyURL might be helpful in some cases.

I believe it works if you add the images to a shared album.

Top Menu: Create > Shared Album

Let me know if that works!

I was going to do that, but then it seemed like it was asking me to share the album with an actual person or persons? Maybe not. I'll give that a whirl.

Yeah, when I try to "share" pictures it wants me to email them to someone. If anyone knows a different way in Google Photos please let me know.

I have accounts from all of the free ones, but use Smugmug. https://www.smugmug.com/

The cost is around $48 annual for their cheapest service, you have unlimited uploads and unlimited space. You can go up from there, I have a mid range one that allows me to use my own domain name on it. They are geared towards photographers, but I upload all of my personal pictures and videos there for archiving. It's super easy, and they have apps for IOS and Android as well. Getting links out is dead simple to share. I use Google as well, but google will resize your photos, Smugmug leaves the original uploaded image alone.

If anyone is interested I have some referral codes I can send, it will give you 20% of membership and "full disclosure" I get 20% off my subscription as well. PM if you are interested.

Yeah - from what I remember it's a bit wonky. I think when you try to share a specific pic it will ask you where you want to share it, but just try creating a "Shared Folder" and then adding the image to that folder.

I'll check in a bit after work and try to see what's going on. I know I stumbled into getting it to work somehow!

I'm not having any luck. Thanks for the suggestions though, I think maybe it's just not as intuitive as it should be.

                        That works pmwasson!

                        I did it again too.

Okay - it seems like you should hit "SHARE" and then "Get Link", but that won't work. What you need to do is ignore the share buttons. God knows why.

                        1) upload the image, and it will give you 2 options: "Add to Album" or "Shared Album" > select "Shared Album"

                        2) Click the X in the popup, and your album will refresh with the new image's thumbnail.

I'm adding images for the next part, because I have no idea what to call these screens - so hopefully seeing them will make more sense then I have the ability to articulate!

Obviously after you paste in your post you have to add the [img] tag to the start and the [/img] close tag to the end of the link.

The google photos is a nice option for me as my phone automatically sync them. Thanks for the info!

See I'm syncing pics too, so I'm not actually uploading them into an album. They go from my phone to my Google Photos account. When I posted a pic on another board it worked initially and then the link broke, or whatever they do, so it was just the little image icon. All my photos links have https on them, which means it's a secure link, which I also think means only certain people (me, basically) can see it.

Let me see if I can post a pic here to test.

Nope. I tried three or four different versions of the link, and none came up as a picture. Cripes.
