    Solomon Grundy, arrived on Monday...

    Here he is:

What you see is what you get.

Personally, I like this one: his head sculpt, which will look much better on a larger body, evokes a 60s era take on the character and works for me. There is a slight greenish tint to his head and body. His clothes are serviceable and reasonable for what Mego might have done. The looseness of his jacket and pants go a long way in minimizing his oversized head, although I doubt they will fit a muscle body.

    Your mileage may vary.

Really not much I like about this figure at all. But very excited to hear a Legion of Doom version on muscle body will follow with a new head sculpt.

Your pictures do pretty good justice for 2 figures that I otherwise didn't think were that good.

Hmmm. Is the shirt lilac? I like the suit.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

The photo is true to the colors---the lilac shirt really pops.

Yes I agree the shirt is an eye catching color, it's the head that just doesn't seem right and the body should
have been thicker, not great but not terrible either.

I do wonder if FTC will offer the tinted green body and the clothes separately?

The other thing about Grundy is that he's a quality piece, aesthetic issues aside: the head isn't bobbling or squishy, and the body is solid and can hold a pose.

Here's a shot of his Who's Who entry which I think is the direct inspiration for his sculpt:

                I like him.
It reminds me of Lou Ferrigno Hulk Head.

Well, he does look better than the prototype pictures, although the original complaints are still valid.

Krypt0nite, are you taking these pictures on a phone? If yes, that is why they are always sideways. If you upload them from a PC, crop just a bit off the bottom or top, and then they will orient correctly when you upload them.

Man, Grundy sure has a crazy profile!! Look at that nose!

The boots are cool. I hope they're offered separately.

Thanks I'm not up on my comic lore and I was wondering where the inspiration was, this definitely looks like it.

Mine arrived yesterday as well. Although I wish they'd used a bigger body, my chief complaint is the skin color. Grundy has always been depicted with white skin, so why the green?

Grundy's head is oversized but otherwise I actually like it. It's made in the same spirit as a lot of Mego's WGSH sculpts: a naive and slightly cartoonish interpretation of the character appropiate to the era. It's just a little disturbing because FTC isn't necessarily going for that specific look with other characters. I also like Grundy's suit and especially the boots. AND I really wish I could get that new Superman in the customized version shown in the pics!

That Superman is an easy custom---all I did was turn the suit inside out and gently unravel the threads holding the belt loops on. It removed them with no trace at all. I also switched out the boots for the classic style and removed the wires from the cape. These are simple mods anyone can do, and that Superman looks even better in person than in the photo.
