Taking a toy break this summer

After Mego Meet and CDN Toy con back to back, home improvement bills looming and my wife getting her annual summer lay off, I'm trying to be toy free this July.

I honestly would prefer to quit another vice but i really don't have many these days, none as expensive as collecting.

This includes records and movie stuff, please wish me luck.

Just be careful of the fine line between purposefully holding off collecting and being comfortable temporarily not collecting.

If you get near that hump you gotta buy yourself something

        Good Luck B

So yesterday was kind of a last hurrah for you for awhile?

Good luck man, you can do it, just stay the hell away from ebay and Noppin for the meantime!

Hmmm, so we should hold off on the Clarance trip until August then in order to keep you from temptation?

Yeah that last minute purchase put me over the edge, it left me with a toy hangover.

If i manage a Clarence trip with you guys, it'd be my hall pass. I have a little cash put aside for that.

You can definitely hold out for a bit. Maybe even put some savings away and then it feels more like an accomplishment when you can pay for a grail; or even a small if the time becomes ripe.
I had to put a bunch of things on hold for several years due to moving and house weirdness, and I found that collecting pictures of items was pretty fun and was a lot cheaper. You already have the picture thing down, so you can assuredly hit the toy wagon for a few months.

I can't in good faith encourage such behavior.

I admire your effort, but nah, it ain't gonna work...you'll be buying something within a week...toy addiction is like heroin addiction...

...or get an old classic car, it will empty your wallet...you won't have money leftover for toys, problem solved...
