After Mego Meet and CDN Toy con back to back, home improvement bills looming and my wife getting her annual summer lay off, I'm trying to be toy free this July.

I honestly would prefer to quit another vice but i really don't have many these days, none as expensive as collecting.

This includes records and movie stuff, please wish me luck.

Good luck! However take that time to do something most of collectors don't do enough of: enjoy what you have! So much time, effort and $ goes into building any collection, but we tend to spend more time looking at "holes" then what we already have. I'm almost right there with you. Hoping I have enough to scrape together to get something I want from the current Hake's auction. After that I'm done for a bit. Even after saving for months I had get..creative for this year's Meet. I'll be re-paying certain folks and eyeing my credit card bill (used it for the double tree) like a hawk to make sure I'm paying enough to avoid any intrest. Plus, my "event" schedule resumes at the end of July, so not much toy money when I'm on the road so to speak.

This is what I've done, as my budget tightened due to medical expenses. I'm enjoying it.

And admittedly, my collecting pattern is different than many here and I only have a few vintage Mego items left that I'd like.

I have not used credit cards since 2004...I use my debit bank card from my checking account.

The only thing I owe is my house (my sister owns half)...only eight more years to go, and its paid off...
