Couldn't say it better... as far as comicbooks, and (by proxy) American arts overall, Adams is up there with Lee and Kirby! Rock on Neal Adams!

Agreed. Adams is definitely one of THE comic book masters and has huge influences on so many other artists like Sienkiewicz, Aparo, Beachum and Reis just to name a few, plus, he's a super nice guy in person. Congrats on getting your day of recognition, sir!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Other than perhaps Curt Swan, Neal Adams is the definitive Superman artist! Well deserved honor - congratulations!

Fantastic, about time and well deserved.
Time for NYC to do the same.

I would definitely go for that one, too!!! Many, many of today's comic book artists could learn A LOT from the previous masters (like proper human physiology, for one)!

^I'm just glad that Bruce Timm has a huge man crush on Kirby and others have followed suit. Now we just need someone to have a man crush on the others.

                    Neal Adams and John Romita.

With respect to Kirby fans, Ditko fans, Swan fans and fans of whoever else might define their childhood DC and Marvel hero/villain visages...Neal Adams and John Romita are all I need to get by....or, to put it another way, those two stand heads and tails above anyone I can think of as far as connecting me me to my childhood within a superhero visual context.

My biggest regret is that there aren't MORE tributes to those two... starting with the HUGE void of action figures that tribute their styles.

There's not enough, and probably never will be as far as I am concerned.
