too sad today. Reruns of the Batman '66 series were my only companion as a latchkey kid growing up in the '70s.
Parents worked until 7 -8pm at night, so it was at home from school at 3, homework until 4:30 and then Batman '66
until 5pm. Then chores and starting dinner for the family. For an 8 year old, it was what I looked forward to each day.

RIP Adam West, always my 1st Batman....

Well there is a bit of a 'positive' side to this-to live to be 88 & die peacefully isn't so bad, right?

      RIP Adam West.

What the hell 2017!? You just keep getting worse.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Growing up , he was the absolute greatest hero on tv for me. Such an integral part of my youth. :(

This one is big. We know him from Batman, most kids today either know him from Family Guy or when he was on Fairly Odd Parents. It'll hit hard.

He was Batman, the best ever. Such an effect he had on pop culture.

Just this morning I was joking to my daughter about how funny it would be if I retired to a trailer campground. I was telling her I would soup-up my golf cart into the Batmobile, and fight campground "crime", like people driving faster than 5 mph or owning dogs larger than a pug. And of course, I was doing my best imitation of Adam West - "Slow down, citizen! There are children at play!!" That's how much his character is part of my life, and how recognizable he was. THE Batman, but Batman - not the Batman.
And then less than a half hour later I got the news about his passing. Floored me, totally.
                      RIP, Caped Crusader!

But just to be respectfully honest, Nimoy had more of an impact on me personally. So as much as West's passing pains me as a fan...Nimoy's passing had more of an impact on me. I apologize if I sound like I'm choosing sides, I'm not...just had to address your post in that respect. But no one can disagree, both West and Nimoy had that much of an impact on all of us here.

                        RIP, Mr West...

He always seemed like a fun guy, had some great highs and some lows that could have brought him down but overcame them to continue to lead a prosperous and exciting career and took it all in stride. he will definitely be missed.
