Any fans of Star Trek Season Four? :D

and yes, by that I mean the Filmation Cartoon show from 1974.

Loved it and I thought it was brilliant that they created crew members: Lt. Arex (the guy with three legs and arms) and Lt. M'Ress (the cat lady)

"Yesteryear" is still one of the best damn episodes ever, animated or not!

I'm a fan of it. "Yesteryear" is indeed one of the better Trek stories, period.

The look of the show is great. Sometimes the voice acting sounds a bit like straight line-reading nowadays. But that's partially because we're spoiled by great voice directors like Andrea Romano who did all the Timm-verse stuff at WB.

The recycled animation hurts binge viewings though. I wouldn't mind seeing someone take the audio and re-animate some of the episodes, just to see what it would look like without budget and technology limitations of the time.

I have the animated series on DVD, and when I can, enjoy watching it with a bowl of cereal, just like I did when
I was around 8 years old.

On a negitive note, I was not a big fan of Lt. Arex, but because of budget restrictions, it didn't allow his Chekov character to be in the animated series, but he did though write an episode. I would have very much liked to have seen his Chekov character just to round out the cast.

although I will always have nostalgia for it, I find it rather painful to watch. the animation is really bad. there are some really good episodes though

Love it. Couple of the episodes are duds and a bit cartoony, but many are fantastic.

I really wish they made more.

Another fan here! I have the whole series on VHS, (yes that's what I said), and the entire set of trading cards too! I also have the talking view-master set of Yesteryear which is called "Mr. Spock's Time Trek".

I had gotten the series on DVD a few years ago for like $15.00. the set in the plastic collectible clamshell. I don't know that I even made it through the whole series, even though it is only 22 episodes

Didn't like it as a kid, but love it as an adult! Way better than anything released after it!

Loved it as a kid, like it as an adult. My son binge watched it as a kid and to him, that's Star Trek.

They are available through my OnDemand provider, so i pop one on. Like the Apes cartoon, they're a bit....quietly paced.

One thing hardly anyone ever mentions is the incidental music ...

To this day hearing any number of the soundtrack numbers takes me right back to 1974.

As a kid I watched the show but wasn't in love with it because the stories seemed to drag ... Also, I always thought Spock talked too slow.

To some up, it was a nice little job for the actors inbetween the series and the movies, but if the movies never happened the cartoon would have been a poor entry to end Star Trek on.

^That incidental music later shows up on all of Filmation's 70s adventure cartoons including The New Adventures of Batman. I can still hear it rolling in my head.
