    The ISIS Project (Pun Intended)

    [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Got this gal on eBay and she needs some love. Her hair is pretty much a mess. I've used conditioner on it and that's made it less stiff, but I still can't style it. Plus her body is like a marionette - she collapses into a heap if I try to stand her up. FTC repro clothing is on its way, so I've got that aspect of the refurb taken care of. Just need to get the hair and body sorted out. Any help/suggestions will be much appreciated!

Chop off the hair and reroot her. The original hair is stiff and brittle with age. I don't think it is salvageable.

I second that....Usually when they are that stiff, a washing would help followed by a stiff brushing,
and then I'd use a pipe cleaner to tie off at the base of the neck and left to dry for a day or two
would restore it. But if you've done that and it still looks like this time to contact Diana.....

as for the body, depends upon where the floppiness is at. If it is all over (knees wont stiffen to enable it to stand,
elbows cause arms to fail instead of holding the famous superhero punch pose [think supergirl flying]) then your
looking at replacing the body, and using this one for spare parts to fix others. If it is just the neck to waist area causing the problem, then that can be tightened up.

Here she is with her FTC repro costume! Still need to work on taming her wild mane of hair, but I think she looks pretty good.

Now I need to fix her original body. (The one pictured above is a repro.) Where can I get a replacement rubber band to reconnect it?

Why not use thin elastic instead? Loop and sew the elastic at one end, then feed other end up through neck until taughtness is desired, then trim excess.

otherwise re-use neck and rubber band from repro?

The elastic worked like a charm! Thanks for the suggestion, darkbros.

                Your welcome!
My brother (RIP) was the first to come up with that back '92 when he broke his MEGO Supergirl.
Glad to see that tip still works...
Awesome! now you have a complete ISIS!

very good, now put a nice little elastic band around her waist ,you know those clear things that usally hold an accessory in place ,those FTC isis
outfits tend to not look right around the waist area .i have done this with a couple FTC isis figures ,and they look much better .

I just got a naked Isis from ebay and she is in good shape. Nice and tight joints, no stretched out rubber bands and eveb her hair is in good shape. Her face paint is good too. All I need is the outfit and a set of boots. (I hate those sandals!)

Once you get her costume you should definitely post some pics!
