All of the overhyping with all of these tie-in ads has me worried. I mean you would see a few for the other Marvel movies but you got so many ads with Spidey/Peter Parker.

Saw the movie today... 2D showing. Thoroughly enjoyable.
The kid carries off the role of Parker & Spidey wonderfully. Keaton is great as the Vulture.
Sure, I have a few nitpicks about how they've messed with a lot of the Spidey comic book canon, but I've come to accept that with movie adaptations by now.
This is my favourite Spidey motion picture out of all of them so far.
(One mid credits segment and one post credits coda to stick around for.)

Keaton...what a waste as the Vulture.

I remember when he begged to play Joker...just realized he would have been perfect opposite Affleck. sigh....

He would've been pretty damn near perfect as Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin, though, especially had they gone back and used a more organic Goblin design and NOT a Power Ranger....
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I have a feeling this is the marvel film where the wheels fall off or Maybe I'm just sick of Spidey .
The movie looks like it's kid's fair.

Well, the movie is about a 15 year old balancing his normal life with being a super hero... but the film's overall tone does manage to reflect that without being overly juvenile.

Box Office Mojo is predicting this will blow way past Sony's predictions and open up in the $100 million range here. There is a lot of sequel fatigue in US cinemas this year, but they feel this will buck that trend.

The box office will do well. I was talking creatively. When you think about it Spiderman doesn't translate well to the cinema. Even Spiderman 2 isn't really a top 20 all-time comic book film.

I thought it was very good. Far better than the last two.

But IMO Spidey 2 is a nearly perfect "silver-age comics" movie. Before MCU nudged these types of films stylistically.

This new young man as Spidey strikes me as terrific, though. I really disliked Garfield's Parker.
